Founded by David Chavez Sr.,GOLDEN STAR remains one of the few independent family owned & operated citrus operations in the Central Valley of California. Golden Star has 2 strategically placed facilities in Cutler and Woodlake,CA that offers a product line that is second to none.

HISTORY

After the Vietnam War David came back to the Central Valley of California where he worked for different produce packers, but more importantly watched, learned and absorbed industry knowledge. In 1985 David took a leap of faith to grow, pack, and ship citrus himself, which created the stepping blocks and legacy for what is set to come.

PRESENT

Over 3 decades of experience with family members and 2 packinghouses located in Cutler and Woodlake, CA. Currently David Chavez Sr. serves as President overseeing farming and general management and Michael Chavez serves as Vice President overseeing Sales and Operations. The grower base has grown from family farms of over 300 acres to now totaling 1,500 acres packed at both facilities.

Continuing growth and excellence Golden Star is growing new varieties of citrus such as lemons, minneolas, and cara-cara’s. We are under construction at our Woodlake facility expanding our operations to better service our partners. We continue to grow our social responsibility and become a better solutions provider globally.
